IPL 2023 Auction Live, December 23, 2022: Three players break the all time IPL bidding record with Sam Curran becoming highest ever buy in history.

IPL Auction 2023 Live Updates: The IPL mini auction has started in Kochi and there have been quite a few developments so far with 3 players breaking the IPL all time bidding record. England all rounder Sam Curran became the highest ever IPL buy when Punjab Kings broke the bank and brought him for Rs 18.50 crore. Australian Cameron Green followed suit to Mumbai Indians after he was sold for Rs 17.5 crore and Chennai Super Kings pulled off the Ben Stokes deal for Rs 16.25 crore. Nicholas Pooran also commanded big bucks as Lucknow bought him for Rs 16 crore after a bidding war with Delhi Capitals.

Earlier, former Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson was sold to champions Gujarat Titans while Sunrisers Hyderabad, who started the day with the largest purse among the franchises, snapped up Harry Brook for a whopping 13.25 crore as well as former Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal for 8.25 crores.

Rilee Rossuw , Shakib-al-Hasan and Joe Root remained unsold while Odean Smith went to Gujarat Titans. Sikander Raza was also snapped up by Punjab Kings and Jason Holder was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5.75 crore. Ajinkya Rahane, meanwhile, was brought by Chennai Super Kings and Shivam Mavi went to the Gujarat Titans for 6 crore.
