Billionaire Elon Musk is actively searching for a new chief executive officer (CEO) for Twitter, days after announcing that he will step down from the post, a report said.
This comes after Elon Musk ran a poll on Twitter asking users whether he should step down as the platform’s CEO. Nearly 10 million people responded with a ‘Yes’.
Then in a tweet, Elon Musk announced, “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software and servers teams.”
Now, the billionaire is actively searching for a new CEO. The report further said that Musk has been looking for a new CEO even before the Twitter poll was made.
While responding to a comment after the poll, the ‘Chief Twit’ said, “The question is not finding a CEO, the question is finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive.”
“No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” he added.
Musk bought social media platform Twitter for $44 billion but advertisers have already paused their spending over fears about content moderation.
